I'm Mike and I would absolutely love to be your wedding photographer!
I approach each wedding day with the eye of an artist and the mindset of a storyteller; taking a photojournalistic approach to creatively capturing each special moment.
A loving smile, a belly laugh, a tear of joy as it rolls down a cheek - preserving the love and happiness you two share with each other is my very first priority.
My goal is to create works of art that embody your love, and I believe the best way to do that is to let you be you.

I am an artist.
But why does that matter? An artist brings with them years of experience and the ability to see the world in a way that the average person does not. We spend our lives seeing light and composition everywhere and we bring that practiced eye to each and every wedding.
So what sets me apart? I have honed a unique cinematic style that only comes from years of dedication to the craft. My images evoke a sense of story that will bring you right back to a moment that you'll never want to forget.
While artistry and storytelling are some of the most important aspects of wedding photography, the things that really help portray the day as it was are my true-to-life editing style and my ability to capture real candid moments that happen organically throughout the day.
...................................................................................................................................................
Creativity is a driving force for me. I push myself to find new ways to push the boundaries of photography so that your unique moments can be preserved in a timeless and stunning way.
As a licensed drone pilot, I'm able to take to the skies to find new angles that help set the scene of your day.
Engagement sessions are just downright fun! I absolutely love getting to know my couples as we laugh our way through beautiful forests or down cobblestone streets. During these sessions I tend to lean away from formal posing and more toward guiding you into interactions with each other in a way that feels comfortable. That way you’re enjoying each other’s company, naturally evoking the genuine emotions that represent the love you share for one another.
..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Expect to have fun! Engagement sessions are a great time to get comfortable in front of a camera in a relaxed and pressure-free environment. Sessions usually run about an hour to an hour and a half and include as many locations and outfit changes as you’d like within that time frame. Many couples choose to bring both a formal and a more casual outfit and I usually recommend complimentary solid colors. Also, be prepared to do a little bit of walking as we tend to explore as we go.
One of the most special things for me about wedding photography is getting to be a witness to each of the intimate and joy-filled moments that make up your day. With more than a decade of experience photographing weddings, I’ve learned that the best way to capture those moments is to document the day as it unfolds. That means not staging scenes or interrupting the natural flow of events. I aim to portray the real story as it happens and as you'll remember it for years to come.

How many images will we receive for our wedding?
My most popular package includes eight hours of coverage and a guaranteed minimum of 600 photos.
Are the images that we receive edited?
Yes! I only ever send edited photos. When you buy a cake you expect it to be iced, right?
Do we own the copyright?
Eastbrook Photography LLC will own the copyright of the images. However, you do have the right to print and use your images whenever and wherever you’d like.
Will you send us the RAW image files?
No. I ask that you trust me to deliver your images in the same quality and style you hired me for.
Can we post our images on social media?
Please do! I’d love it if you would tag @eastbrookphoto so your friends and family can find me.
Are the images we receive in our gallery high resolution?
Of course! Large prints are the best!
Can we print our own images?
Yes! If you’re interested in larger prints I suggest you order them through your wedding gallery. I work with professional photo labs that make sure you’ll be receiving the best quality images that won’t fade over time.
What happens in an emergency if you can’t be there?
Don’t worry about a thing! I will always make sure there will be a fantastic photographer at your wedding.
What kind of equipment do you use and what happens if it breaks?
I use all top-of-the-line gear and I bring redundant back ups so every moment of your day will be covered no matter what.
How long does it take to get our images back?
It can take up to twelve weeks after your wedding for me to edit and upload your images. However, I do like to send a “sneak peek” on social media within 48 hours of your day.
Do you offer physical wedding albums?
No. I like to focus my time on the photos themselves and let professional designers work their magic on albums. I can certainly recommend some of my favorite album companies.
Are there any hidden costs?
The only extra costs that might come up are for travel 50 miles or more from Charlottesville, as well as a meal for each photographer for every six hours of coverage. Other than that I do charge a small fee for special editing requests. Special holiday and out-of-state rates may apply as well.
Are we able to customize our package?
You can always add an engagement session, a second photographer, and additional hours of coverage onto your wedding day.
How long is the engagement session?
We usually go until everyone agrees we have enough. That typically ends up being between an hour and an hour and a half.
Can we shoot our engagement session on the weekend?
From May through October I try not to book engagement sessions on weekends, but I would be happy to find a weekday that works for you!
How far will you travel for our engagement session?
I travel up to 50 miles from Charlottesville for engagement sessions, but I do make the occasional exception!
How do we book you?
After we’ve spoken either in person or over the phone, I will send you a contract. Once I receive your deposit and signed contract, I will officially be locked in for your date.
How do the payments work?
The final balance is due any time up to one month before your date. I currently accept Paypal or checks made out to “Eastbrook Photography”.
What do we do if it rains on our wedding day?
If it rains then we’ll get a little wet and still take beautiful pictures of your day. Rest assured I bring plenty of unobtrusive lighting equipment in case everything gets moved indoors.
Do we get every picture you take on the wedding/engagement session day?
No. This is where you have to trust that I will give you all of the best photos from the day. The photos that are culled out are often repeats or just didn’t reach my high standard of quality.
What if we have a question that isn't on this list?
Shoot me an email at mike@eastbrookphoto.com and I'll get back you with an answer ASAP!
